Who We Are.
Dr. Pinocchio has had a passion for infants and children since she was a child herself. Fortunately, this passion has developed into a lifelong career.
Dr. Pinocchio received a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California and a Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Her doctoral work was specific to early intervention, providing occupational therapy services in the home setting to children age newborn to three years old, resulting in specialized knowledge and experience.
Dr. Pinocchio holds the following certifications: DIR Floortime, USC Chan Sensory Integration, and Yoga for the Special Child. Her continued education includes the following: Handwriting Without Tears, AEIOU Approach to Feeding, and DIR Approach to Feeding.
Dr. Pinocchio has professional experience working in a variety of pediatric settings including running her own early intervention business providing in-home services, having a role as contributing faculty to Masters and Doctoral students, providing school-based services PreK-8th Grade, and providing outpatient services newborn through teenage years.
As a clinician, her values are expressed throughout her every therapy session. Dr. Pinocchio emphasizes family-centered care, understanding, individualized treatment, and a holistic approach when providing occupational therapy services.
Barbara Pinocchio - Practice Manager
As a mom of four and one of seven children herself, Barbara has a genuine love for children and families. Barbara has learned the ins and outs of occupational therapy as Mallory completed her journey through schooling sharing stories and knowledge along the way with her mom. Barbara is an advocate for connecting families to resources that will bring value to their children and family and has a deep understanding of the benefits of occupational therapy.
